CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR WASHABLE SILK

Like all good things in life - good care will pay off and help you enjoy your life and your silks!

These fine silks do not need to be dry cleaned!  These gorgeous silks are machine washable but should be washed separately on "gentle" .  They are a natural fabric and some actually have improved brightness of color after regular washing and appropriate care.  Be careful to use appropriate detergents such as ivory snow, dreft or any non-alkaline shampoo.  RINSE IN COLD WATER. 

DRYING:  Silk can be hung in a cool dark place to dry and then ironed (on reverse side) OR my preference is to use a steamer.   -Small hand held steamers are easy to find, easy to use and handy to have around .-
You can also choose to "half-way" dry your silks on the low or delicate setting of your dryer.  Be careful - DON'T OVER DRY.  Check periodically to dry until slightly damp.  Hang promptly and touch up with an iron or steamer if necessary.

Do not wash garments in detergent incompatible with silk finishes.  NEVER USE DETERGENTS CONTAINING A BLEACHING AGENT OR "COLOR BRIGHTNER". .... NEVER spray perfume or deoderant directly on silk.  DO NOT expose silk to sun exposure for long periods of time.  And DO NOT soak silks in water for long periods of time.  DO NOT wring silk...excess water can be removed by rolling article in a towel.
